Some more justice!

JUSTICE is a concept show based on themes of Law and Order that all five artists (C215, Dan23, Bruno Leyval, Least Wanted and MC1984) have been committed to for the past three months, and have been working very hard to make it a special show.

Kochy Photography Exhibition

The exhibit will begin in - and run for the whole of - May at the severnshed on the harbourside, bristol. it's called 'the college green scene' and will feature 13 images of one of bristol's most beautiful and iconic landmarks (hopefully not as you've seen it before). there's a preview evening (another name for a free glass of wine and a relaxed chin wag) on tuesday may 5th from 7.30pm-9pm.

Friend & Co. had their Christmas show yesterday, including work from 45RPM, Mr Jago and Faris Badwan.

We went down to take a look around.

Sickboy Exhibition.

Stay Free launches on December 3 from 18:30 to 22:00, and is open to the general public from December 4-10, 2008 between 12:00-18:00 at The Tramshed 6-8 Garden Walk Shoreditch London EC2A 3EQ.

He is touted as one of the most bankable artists, but Sickboy refuses to play by the rules of the mainstream art industry. Turning down offers by auction houses and galleries, the British artist defiantly stays true to his roots as he proved by the caged heart installation he dropped outside The Tate Modern earlier this week in response to the corporate backing of a graffiti show held there.

Guerilla Galleries: Credit Crunch Art.

We headed down to the 1st birthday party for Guerrilla Galleries on Bristol's Gloucester Rd. It featured new work from well known graff artists such as Ghostboy, and an impressive installation from Ziml. The pieces are cheaptastic.

The place was busy....few vacant onlookers around mind....but then it was Friday night.

Newcomers such as this young guy got to make their mark buy painting real time and exhibiting straight on the wall.

The nature of street are is changing. Artist are now looking for possible fame and fortune in addition to getting exposure for their work. Taking to the streets, the BBC's Joby Waldman meets Elbow-Toe. Art school educated, he operates from his studio in Brooklyn where he makes original artworks and prints which he then pastes on the walls of his neighbourhood, and increasingly in galleries around the world.

Peace on form.

On Sunday we checked out Carol Peace's sculptor exhibition at Paintworks Bristol. A classic view of the human form with a contemporary twist. intimate pieces such as "Precious" inspired by the simplicity of companionship and touch made an impression. What we liked was the insight into the journey of a piece from its conception, documented through sketches of the artist's muse, to the final product.

And now the science part...

The 6-foot-tall video display consists of 835 pieces of gold-toned Southern Yellow Pine, each wired to its own tiny servomotor. Stand before it and a hidden camera feeds your image, in real time, to a souped-up Macintosh, which parses you into an 830-byte video signal. The Mac then tells each motor to position its pinewood pixel to reflect a specific intensity of light. The result: the world's first live animated woodcut.
